Dear Editor In response to Glen Tait's letter about the wheat midge and the stewardship agreements (Regional Optimist, March 20), he just repeated the seed company's line of why they want 10 per cent susceptible wheat in the crop.

Another season has passed for those who love to show off their snow planes. Only three or four gatherings were held this past season due to the extreme cold. Snow depth also varied across the province.

Hafford and District Music Festival held their competitions the week of March 17 and the program and awards night was held March 21 in the Hafford School gym. MC for the evening was Diane Jones.

The staff of Canadian Artiques Roadshow have chosen the Battlefords Food Bank as the charity to receive proceeds from their event at the Frontier Mall April 2 to 5.

Thursday morning coffee at the Pine Island Suits was enjoyed playing bingo and listening to jokes. A good start to the day. A number of apartment ladies enjoyed the St. Patrick's Day tea at the lodge catered to by the hospital auxiliary.

The SMAAAHL championship trophy will be in the Civic Centre Saturday afternoon, but the hometown team will not have a chance to win it on home ice.
