A story in the Battlefords Regional Optimist on the budget impact on Living Sky School Division was raised in the legislative assembly April 9.

As I write this week's article, I admit to occasionally stopping to add another item to my lists: What to Pack and What Still Needs to be Done. In just five days I'm off to Saskatchewan and I can hardly wait.

A 2008 brown Ford F250 super duty truck with Saskatchewan license plate 175GDX was stolen from the 500 block of 114th Street North Battleford between April 8 and 9. Mischief was afoot between 9 p.m. April 4 and 7 a.m. April 5 in North Battleford.

MacNAUGHTON: Alice MacBeath MacNaughton: March 29, 1924 to April 2, 2013: Alice passed away quietly April 2, 2013. She was an accomplished pianist and a compassionate nurse before she fell ill in Vancouver.

FROLEK: In Loving Memory of John Joseph Frolek who was born January 23, 1936 at North Battleford, SK and passed away March 16, 2013 at Lethbridge, AB.

MORRIS: Eva Linnea Ingeborg Morris was the fourth child of Olaf & Christina Larson, born in Omaha, Nebraska, U.S.A. on April 28, 1917. She lived in Sweden from August 1917 to May 1918 before immigrating to Canada.

Once in a while the archives comes across a real treasure in their call for archival material. And so it was, on a trip to the Battlefords News-Optimist this year.

It took a few days once the Rochester Red Wings started their baseball season for North Battleford's Andrew Albers to make his debut, but once he got his chance he didn't disappoint.

There were a lot more Saskatchewan Roughriders jerseys in the audience than usual at the fourth Mayors' Prayer Breakfast in the Battlefords.

CROOK - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Anne Crook, late of North Battleford, on April 4, 2013 at the age of 92 years. Anne was born on October 22, 1920 at North Battleford, Saskatchewan.
