A man facing drug trafficking and weapons-related offences is seeking bail in Saskatoon Provincial Court. Rudi Betthel, 52, of Bjorkdale, had a show cause hearing on April 29 but the judge reserved his decision until May 7.

A man wanted by RCMP on violent offences was arrested and released on bail.

On Thursday April 29, Black Lake RCMP officers were alerted to a vehicle carrying a large quantity of alcohol passing through La Ronge heading toward Black Lake. The vehicle was located and stopped by RCMP.

The Dekker Centre for the Performing Arts intends to wrap up their pandemic-affected season with an outdoor performance on June 4. They plan to present the musical act Zayda, with Skye Blue opening for Zayda at 7 p.m. that night.

The Battlefords Art Club is hosting its Spring Exhibition at the Allen Sapp Gallery - Lower Level. The exhibition runs April 21 to June 6 and is open Wednesday to Sunday, from 12 p.m. to 4 a.m. each day.
