Four residents who tested positive for COVID-19 have died. One new death in the age group 80+ was reported in the North West zone. One new death in the age group 70-79 was reported in the North West zone.

From the RCMP: On December 23, 2020, at approximately 4:42 p.m., Shellbrook/Ahtahkakoop RCMP received the report of a serious two vehicle collision on Highway 55, approximately 4-5 km north of Canwood, SK.

With Health Canada’s approval of the Moderna vaccine for COVID-19, Saskatchewan is anticipating 4,900 doses to arrive in the province the week of Dec. 28, according to a Ministry of Health news release on Dec. 23.

With more provincial COVID-19 restrictions now in place, the Battlefords Chamber of Commerce won’t have a lot of opportunity to put on large-scale events early in 2021.
