Anne KnafelcMarch 10, 1922 - August 28, 2011 The death of Mrs. Anne (nee Meschishnick) Knafelc of St. Mary's Villa, Humboldt, SK, (and formerly of Watson, SK), occurred at her residence on Sunday, August 28, 2011. She was 89 years of age. Anne was born on March 10, 1922, to Herman and Rosa (nee Hueser) Meschishnick at home on their farm near St. Gregor, SK. She grew up there and attended St. Gregor School in the village. Following her education, Anne helped at home and was also employed by the George Gasperlin family. On November 12, 1945, she married Joseph "Joe" Knafelc in St. Gregor. They resided on the Knafelc homestead west of Daphne where they farmed and raised a family of eight, three sons and five daughters. In 1970, Anne began working at Quill Plains Centennial Lodge in Watson as a homecare aide. After 13-and-a-half years, she retired from that position and returned full-time to her favorite roles - mother and grandmother. Indeed, her family meant the world to her. In the early 1980s, Anne and Joe built a new house in Watson and moved into town. In September 2008 a final move was made when, due to failing health, she became a resident of St. Mary's Villa. Anne was a lady with a volunteering spirit and a compassionate heart who was always thinking of others and willing to give a helping hand to anyone who needed it. Over the years, she was a member of the Daphne Willing Workers, the Watson C.W.L., and the New Horizons Seniors club and choir. As well, Anne was a palliative care worker and delivered Meals on Wheels. Quilting, crocheting, baking, making fruit leather, butchering, cutting meat, making sausage, gardening, and playing cards filled many other pleasant hours. As a congenial hostess, visitors to her home always received a warm welcome and an abundance of food and refreshments. Anne will be lovingly remembered by her husband of over 65 years, Joseph Knafelc of St. Mary's Villa, Humboldt; three sons, five daughters, 21 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren: Keith Knafelc of Blue Ridge, AB, and family, Wyatt (Heather) Knafelc, Aaron Knafelc, and Nancy (Mikeal) Pavloff and their children Erik, Jack and Sarah; Elaine (Robert) Tremblay of Melfort, SK, and family, Melissa (Jason) White and their children Orren and Erika, and Ryan (Amy) Tremblay and their children Emma, Sophie and Alex; Janet (Barry) Wilson of Sparwood, BC, and family, Derrick (Tina) Wilson and their children Trey and Kianna, Kimberley Wilson and her children Kohl and Kaytlynn, and Amber (Wade) Thompson, and by Blayne's partner, Amy Morrow; Doreen (Ronald) Reinhart of Humboldt and family, Janel (Jason) Gutka, Cara (Chad) Cuch and their children Joni and Tori, and Shawn Reinhart; Yvonne (Hal) Molle of Fernie, BC, and family, Tanya (Jody) Molle-Murdoch and their children Olivia, Emily, Liam, Ava, Kaden, Violet and Jacob, and Lisa (Brad) Napier; Brenda (Barry) Eggerman of Watson and family, Dean Eggerman and daughter Breann, Scott (Shirley) Eggerman and their children Maysun and Harper, and Todd Eggerman; Lloyd (Patsy) Knafelc of Englefeld, SK, and family, Stacey Knafelc (Jon Dies), Julie Knafelc (Geoff Lucas) and their children Gabriella and William, and Freya Knafelc; and Harvey (Donna) Knafelc of Ponoka, AB, and family, Brandon Knafelc and Devin Knafelc; two brothers and one sister: George (Jean) Meschishnick, Clarence (Helen) Meschishnick, and Hilda Therres, all of Humboldt; sisters-in-law: Clothilda Meschishnick of Humboldt; Lostie Plemel of Prince Albert, SK; Louise Knafelc, Agnes Gerspacher, and Dorothy Doepker, all of Watson; and by numerous nieces and nephews.
