Geyer - Maxine Gail. It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister on October 7, 2011, at the Wynyard Hospital. She was 58 years of age. Maxine was born to Frank and Violet (nee Whetter) Frederick on December 22, 1952. Her childhood was spent on the family farm northeast of Watson and attending Green Meadow country school and eventually school in Watson. After graduating from Grade 12, she continued her education at St. Peter's College in Muenster and then the University of Regina specializing in the field of education. On March 16, 1974, Maxine married Ron Geyer at Trinity United Church. They briefly lived in town before moving to the Tony Geyer farm north of Watson. Maxine and Ron were blessed with the birth of a daughter Tia, and a son Boe. Besides being a full-time wife and mother, Maxine also worked as a cook in Watson and spent many days substitute teaching at the school. She also took an active role on the farm and enjoyed the many hours spent combining with their Massey 860. A strong love for animals led to having many pets over the years and to the raising of pure bred poodles. The activities of her children gave Maxine the opportunity to be more involved in their lives. She was a driver, coach, cheerleader and dedicated sports mom for volleyball, hockey and baseball just to name a few. Socially, Maxine looked forward to gathering with family and friends, and used these opportunities to showcase her talents as a cook. Eventually, with their family grown, Maxine and Ron were able to spend more time at the Fishing Lake cabin where Maxine pursued her hobbies and interest in growing flowers, building fish ponds, and bird watching. Described as hard-working and determined, she will always be remembered for the love of her family and her willingness to do anything for them. Stop and smell the roses, do something kind for someone and remember Maxine. Maxine will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her husband, Ron Geyer of Watson; her daughter, Tia (Myron) Staniec of Humboldt, and their sons Blake and Brydan; her son, Boe Geyer of Watson; parents, Frank and Violet Frederick; brother, Blaine (Shelley) Frederick all of Watson and their family, Brad Frederick of Medicine Hat, AB; Shanna Frederick and her son, Quinn; Jenna (Aron) Friesen and their daughter Jade; Brett (Catherine) Frederick, all of Watson; by Ron's sister and brother: Faye (Finlay) Mackenzie of Saskatoon, and their family; David (Eileen) Geyer of Watson, and their family; aunt, Pat Fishbrook of Hope, BC; and by numerous cousins and friends. Maxine was predeceased by her father-and-mother-in-law, Arnold and Daisy Geyer; and by a brother in infancy. A family service for Maxine was held on Wednesday, October 12, 2011, at Schuler-Lefebvre Funeral Chapel in Humboldt, SK, officiated by Rev. Brenda Curtis. Others taking part were: Jenna Friesen and Shanna Frederick, eulogists; and Boe Geyer, urn bearer. Memorial donations may be directed to the Humboldt SPCA (P.O.Box 3942, Humboldt, SK, S0K 2A0) or the Heart and Stroke Foundation (279 - 3rd. Avenue North, Saskatoon, SK, S7K 2H8).
