Bjorkdale News: School observes Remembrance Day

BJORKDALE — The Bjorkdale School held their annual Remembrance Day ceremony on Friday, Nov. 10.

The Bjorkdale School children paid tribute to all of the Veterans with poems, stories and the reading of the bios of all the new Veteran banners at Memorial Park. The service was appreciated by over 90 spectators. The Village of Bjorkdale donated the chili for the luncheon afterwards. A thank you to those that brought desserts, pickles and cheese.

The Little Valley Playschool will be hosting their annual trade fair on Sunday, Nov. 19. There are over 21 vendors at this year’s trade show that include baking, jewelry, McKague Meats, epicure, Scentsy just to name a few. Bjorkdale Minor Hockey will be running the food booth. The trade fair will run from 10 am to 2:30pm. There will be a raffle table, 50/50 and lots of shopping available.

The Bjorkdale Fire Department had some hands-on training provided by STARS. The fire department had Stars Landing Zone training on Nov. 7. The training provided the fire department with the needed information to keep themselves safe and their patients when dealing with the arrival of a STARS helicopter landing. This training provides information on: Landing zone preparation and helicopter safety and preparing a patient for medical transport.

The Bjorkdale Community Christmas Party is set for Friday, Dec. 1. Tickets can be picked up at PJ’s One Stop or the Bjorkdale Co-op. There will be a beef supper and desserts along with a silent auction and door prizes. Everyone welcome.
