Humboldt chamber hires new executive director

McInnis draws from her experience working in the Legislative Assembly of Prince Edward Island, and post-secondary institutions.

Sarah McInnis is the new executive director of the Humboldt and District Chamber of Commerce.

HUMBOLDT -— With the retirement of Brent Fitzpatrick, the Humboldt and District Chamber of Commerce board announced the appointment of a new executive director, Sarah McInnis.

McInnis draws from her experience working in the Legislative Assembly of Prince Edward Island, and post-secondary institutions, according to a media release from the chamber. Although new to Humboldt, she has volunteered her time with the Bill Brecht Park Upgrade Committee, The City of Humboldt Public Art Committee, and the Prairie Roots Early Learning Centre Board of Directors.

“We are very pleased to have Sarah join our team. I can’t wait for our business community to meet her! Her experience provides an opportunity for the Humboldt and District Chamber of Commerce to continue our focus of bringing value to our members, I look forward to working with Sarah in the coming months,” said Tammy Ward, president of the chamber

McInnis said she was excited to take on the role.

“I’m looking forward to engaging with our business community and continuing the hard work done to get the Chamber where it is today.”

"It’s been great, we had our child and being close to family has helped," said McInnis to SASKTODAY.ca. "The Humboldt and District Chamber board is very active and involved and you know they care about their community."

The chamber's board is focused on developing their strategic plan for the future of Humboldt. McInnis said she hopes see the development of the strategic plan and implement plans to create tourism and boost an already busy economy in the Humboldt region.
