Planned outage to affect Beatty, James Smith First Nation

BIRCH HILLS — A planned SaskPower outage will take place on Aug. 27 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., affecting all customers in Beatty, James Smith Cree Nation and rural areas north of Beatty. 

The outage is for system maintenance and was originally scheduled for Aug. 13. SaskPower says the work is necessary to ensure reliability in the area. 

According to SaskPower, the province sees an average of about 200,000 power outages each year, most commonly caused by weather, equipment failure and animals coming into contact with lines
