It was a sad day at the St. Peter’s Abbey on April 28 as the community said goodbye to the Prairie Messenger newspaper and the St. Peter’s Press.

It started out as something simple. Wendy Toye with the Haus of Stitches in Humboldt wanted to make quilts for the 29 people that were on the Humboldt Broncos bus on April 6.

In 2017, 264 volunteers contributed 2,637 hours to the Cultural Services Department. This includes the Humboldt and District Museum and Gallery, Original Humboldt, the Humboldt Water Tower, and Humboldt Public Art.

My grandson Dexter Mcleod and I attended the service for Conner Lukan in Slave Lake. The reason we attended was to show respect for Conner and support for his family and loved ones. Such painthey must have gone through and they must be going through.

With deepest sympathy sending the heart broken message but standing together for all our kids. Wind blows ....so softly...feeling the cold. Roaming Gray clouds.... Silver lines...Silver stars... Falling...falling around. Did you sat ...and wait ...

In November my brother died young and needlessly. There is nothing in this life that prepares you for this. I send these words here from my heart, I hope that they help. To Humboldt, Broncos and Families.
