Families and friends of the Humboldt Broncos got to relax and have some rare fun on April 27 with the Country Thunder Humboldt Broncos Tribute show at Sasktel Centre in Saskatoon.

NORTHEAST — A national survey taken by students shows that fewer local students have a positive sense of belonging compared to the national average, and more local students feel anxious and depressed than the national average.

The Humboldt Broncos lottery draw took place on April 29 with winners named for all cash prizes. People had until midnight on April 27 to purchase their tickets, including for the 50/50 draw which totalled $136,030 by the final phone call.

MELFORT — A trustee representing Melfort has resigned – and the school division has decided not to replace him in a byelection. Todd Goudy was one of two Melfort trustees. He resigned because he was elected as the MLA for Melfort.

MELFORT — After looking at the costs of building two permanent classrooms at Melfort’s Maude Burke Elementary, the North East School Division has decided to go ahead with the project.

April 20 I had the pleasure of going to the Annaheim Talent Show and what a great night. The evening was planned as a fundraiser with the idea being anyone in town could come and show off their talents.

On April 6, many people stopped to help those who were injured in the Humboldt bus crash.

It was a busy weekend for eight local schools on April 13-14 as they competed in the Saskatchewan National Archery in Schools Program Provincial Tournament.

The divorce between the Wapiti Regional Library and Prince Albert’s John M. Cuelenaere Public Library has been finalized. Prince Albert council voted to pass the third reading of a bylaw establishing a municipal library separate from Wapiti March 26.
