The Tisdale office and transportation building of the North East School Division could be seeing upgrades. The division’s board voted at its March 21 meeting to approve a tender to do the work as long as the price comes below $1.3 million.

A lands meeting at Kinistin Saulteaux Nation was an important step towards greater accountability. On March 10, band members were presented with a draft constitution.

The Carlton Trail Toastmasters held their annual speech contests on March 14. Two contestants from both the international and evaluation categories are now moving on to the area competition in Saskatoon on March 23 at McNally Robinson.

It was a night to celebrate hunters and fishers at the Humboldt Wildlife Federation Fish Fry Banquet on March 17. Members, friends, and family enjoyed a fresh fish supper at the clubs biggest fundraiser.

Recently we observed International Women’s Day. But my questions is why? Not why do we show appreciation for women.

I do not envy any politician around budget time. Everyone has an opinion on how government money should be spent, it does not matter whether it is a civic, provincial, or federal elected official.

There could be an adjustment to the attendance boundaries for two groups of schools in the division.
