Nipawin will be one of nine communities province wide to have a regional campus for the Saskatchewan Distance Learning Corporation.

The North East School Division's board of education will now take what they've learned and make a decision at one of their upcoming meetings.

The Humboldt Broncos, Battlefords North Stars, Flin Flon Bombers, La Ronge Ice Wolves and Melfort Mustangs have clinched playoff spots. Three other teams will qualify for the SJHL postseason.

The Métis Nation-Saskatchewan Eastern Region II expects the event, which brought together people of Métis, Filipino, Ukrainian, and Norwegian heritages together to celebrate their cultures, will only be the beginning.

As well, Bjorkdale School had a strong showing at NESSAC curling and hosted a Telemiracle Tea.

Estevan has now lost eight of its last nine games.

The Métis Nation Saskatchewan Eastern Region II Elders’ Branch Gathering was held in Tisdale on Feb. 8.

From Feb. 16 to 19, 12 men’s teams and six women’s teams will compete for the top spot. Teams include rinks such as Sherry Anderson, Brad Heidt, Eugene Hritzuk and Bruce Korte.

Ty Annand of Nipawin, Taylor Downey of Melfort and Marie Millette of Humboldt are competing in the Canada Winter Games.

The Portrait Drawing Workshop will take place on Saturday, March 4 from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
