Safe Communities Humboldt and Area celebrated 10 years with a look back while looking forward to an even safer community at a community luncheon on Oct. 16.

While talking to Marguerite Cunningham and Marie-Louise Ternier-Gommers at the Community Gathering Place last week, they brought up a disturbing fact: people do not volunteer like they used to.

Another day, another stupid online awareness campaign (or three). Awareness campaigns are very popular online as they allow people to pat themselves on the back for doing something good while not actually accomplishing anything of note.

The Humboldt Broncos went 2-1 last week in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League. The squad downed La Ronge, 4-1, and Yorkton, 5-1. Sandwiched in between was a 5-0 loss to Finning Division rival Battlefords.
