Some local Bjorkdale kids who are on the Tisdale Twisters Gymnastics team attended the Yorkton Gymnastics competition and are coming home with some hardware.

Hugh Nerlien, the MLA for Kelvington–Wadena, said increased funding to rural healthcare, more money for infrastructure and incentives to boost the economy were highlights for him from the provincial budget.

The Targeted Sector Support Initiative funding from the province aims to encourage collaboration between communities, building even better administrative capacity and the promotion of good governance in all Saskatchewan municipalities.

“Keeping and attracting more doctors, nurses and all healthcare professionals in our rural areas is key to maintaining the level of services,” said Carrot River Valley MLA Fred Bradshaw.

On March 25, the Tisdale Wildlife Federation hosted its annual awards night.

The pilot project aims to show how communities can work towards reconciliation between Indigenous and non-Indigenous citizens.

Jaden Woulfe started with the Bjorkdale Bruins, moving to Porcupine Blues and then ending her minor hockey career playing with the AA North East Aces as an assistant captain.

The Estevan Bruins and the Flin Flon Bombers will compete to determine who moves on in a Game 7 on March 28.

The Porcupine Plain senior basketball team won silver at the the high school basketball provincials. Legacy Christian Academy out of Saskatoon got the gold.
