There was a big turnout of visitors for Those Were the Days, the signature weekend of the Western Development Museum in North Battleford. This year marked the 50th anniversary of the event, running Aug. 17 and 18.

HUMBOLDT — A cross-country motorcycle rally aims to make Post Traumatic Stress Disorder more visible, as well as build a community among those dealing with the condition. The Rolling Barrage made a stop at Discovery Ford in Humboldt on Aug.

HUMBOLDT — The Prairie Central District for Sport, Culture and Recreation will be teaching people about Métis Jigging and Sash Weaving with practitioners of these traditional arts. Jigging is a traditional Métis dance.

MANITOU BEACH — Manitou Beach commemorated its 100th year since incorporation with a fun filled afternoon that ended with the cutting of the town’s birthday cake by Mayor Gerald Worobec.

TISDALE — Lynne Roszell felt helpless when her loved ones fought against cancer, so now she’s using her skills as a snowmobiler to raise funds for research into the disease.

The Chapel Gallery Members Exhibition reception took place last Thursday. Artist Grant McConnel gave a public in-depth curatorial talk and walk through. He spoke about a number of different techniques.
