LANIGAN — It wasn’t hard for the Lanigan ladies’ hockey team to decide what to devote their charity tournament to: raising money for breast cancer research.

Local Celtic music act Back of the Bus hopes to bring The Lighthouse Serving the Battlefords to the forefront at an upcoming performance. Back of the Bus takes the Dekker Centre stage Friday, Feb. 15 to raise money for The Lighthouse.

MAIDSTONE – Denise Newton was to North Battleford Sunday to see her grandson play hockey. It was a tie game so each team got a point. Colleen Koski has been to Lloydminster for medical treatment.

MAIDSTONE – The Maidstone Museum party was scheduled for Jan. 19 but, because of a blizzard, had to be put off to Jan.20.

MELFORT — For the third year in a row, Garth Turner won a pizza eating contest that raises money for Telemiracle. Almost $14,600 was raised by the contest, hosted by TJ’s Pizza.
