It was a lot of work for a rewarding night with the Lanigan and District Music Festival final concert on May 4 in Lanigan. This was also the award night for the festival with 65 awards given out and 19 medals for outstanding performances.

It was a full house at the sold-out Prince Harry and Meghan Wedding Bash held May 18 at St. Paul’s Anglican Church. Ladies in fascinators, gin and tonics at the bar and Cornish game hen on the menu made for a true British affair.

The Scorpions’ Sting, a production by Saskatoon Opera, stopped in North Battleford last week for a couple performances. The Scorpions’ Sting is an opera for children based on the Egyptian myth Isis and the seven scorpions.

It was a beautiful day Tuesday for Battlefords Art Club members to paint. Artists worked in watercolour and acrylic paints. Landscape, floral, abstract and contemporary themes were the subjects of the paintings.

The volunteer service department for Leoville, Spiritwood and Hafford is in need of caring, compassionate and committed volunteers to fill the following service positions: Pet Therapy – Hafford Special Care Home.

St. Rita’s Parish sponsored a pancake breakfast to celebrate the mothers of Medstead and area May 13. The village hall filled with families celebrating the maternal figures of the area. St. Rita is the namesake of the Catholic Church of Medstead.
