It was a lot of work for a rewarding night with the Lanigan and District Music Festival final concert on May 4 in Lanigan. This was also the award night for the festival with 65 awards given out and 19 medals for outstanding performances.

The Scorpions’ Sting, a production by Saskatoon Opera, stopped in North Battleford last week for a couple performances. The Scorpions’ Sting is an opera for children based on the Egyptian myth Isis and the seven scorpions.

St. Rita’s Parish sponsored a pancake breakfast to celebrate the mothers of Medstead and area May 13. The village hall filled with families celebrating the maternal figures of the area. St. Rita is the namesake of the Catholic Church of Medstead.
