Our sympathy to the Scott family on the passing of Virgil (Bud) Scott. His funeral was in the United Church. An article I missed last week was before Christmas the Maidstone RCMP delivered chocolates to all the seniors at the Pine Island Apartments.

In my last news report, I must apologize for a mistake on the date for the Western Development Museum workshop bee. It should have read Jan. 12 and not Jan. 20. There will be a second workshop bee at the museum on Friday, Jan. 26. 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

First Person Exploits into the Unknown

The wrapping paper has all been recycled, the gifts are being enjoyed and the downtime of after Christmas has begun. The weekend will bring New Year’s celebrations and no matter what your plans are, ensure they include a safe ride home.

There is never a slow season in the quaint village of Medstead, and Christmas time of 2017 is certainly no different. Even before solstice, the mark of the commencement of winter, the spirit of the season fell upon the community.

I know you’ve read this before from me, but this time I will truly be retired as the Maymont News reporter. I would like to thank all the people who have thanked me for my articles. There were some happy memories and some very sad ones.
