The 2017 Rivers West volunteer recognition banquet was held April 25 in Paradise Hill with a full house of award winners, their families and friends. The evening started out with welcoming speakers by the Mayor, and executive from Rivers West Board.

The Village of Medstead is home to many creatures, both human and animal alike. On an ordinary day the two coexist peacefully; people walking their dogs and neighbours greeting each other with smiles.

The majestic Whooping Crane, currently on the endangered species list, paid the beautiful RM of Medstead a special visit April 18, and they seem to be stick around.

The Maidstone Museum members would like to thank all who made the Silent Auction at the Trade Farm on April 1 and 2 a financial success.

UCHS is back from Easter break and the travel club is just now returning to school and eager to tell of their adventures.

If there was ever any doubt as to the enthusiasm put into the annual campaign hosted by UCHS, all one needed to do was head to the gym April 12.

A baby shower was held in the seniors' room on April 22 to honour Ronan Lee, the new son of Dustin and Brittney Tracksell. Head table and gift table were nicely decorated in blue and white cloths, balloons and mini baby bottles filled with candy.

The final school days in April have come and gone and the month of May has arrived. Most of the indoor sports are completed and now the focus will be on track and field training.
