Ukrainian cinematographer brothers Andriy and Pylyp Rozhen held a screening of their documentary, titled Winter That has Changed Us, Saturday evening at the St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Orthodox Church in North Battleford.

Recently, Blanche Nichol achieved a milestone celebrating her 100th birthday. Blanche Tulloch was born July 11, 1914 in Invermay.

Tuesday morning at the Pine Island Suites we enjoyed celebrating Janice and Mae McConnell's birthdays. We visited, played bingo and enjoyed birthday cake. Congratulations to you both. Hope we can enjoy many more.

With a song titled Listen to Your Heart, Donna Boser has earned a second semifinalist spot for Song of the Year. Donna entered the international songwriting contest March 17, writing a song about what she did as a kid and what her heart yearned for.

Aug. 4, 2014 is the 100th Anniversary of Canada's entry in World War One.

A quick trip to Yellowstone National Park in northwestern Wyoming last week turned out well. I travelled with my daughter Joyce Rowland and our Kiwi cousins Michele and Andrew Willis.

The Battlefords Art Club has a long history of supporting visual arts in the community. It promotes exhibits of local work with the aim of encouraging its members in developing their potential for creating satisfying artwork in any medium.

More then 1,700 people visited this year's Saskatchewan Handcraft Festival in Battleford. Held at the Alex Dillabough Centre, 30 exhibitors offered their products for sale Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
