Spring? No crows or gophers yet

Finally I think it is safe to say spring has found us! For the last week we have had melting snow but no word of crows or gophers yet. I will be waiting for Henry Konopelski to make the report of the first sightings.

Several residents nursing broken bones

Now the snow is melting every day so we should soon have drier streets and walks. The town man does a remarkable job of moving the snow around and keeping the streets as good as possible.

School division workshops on technology advances

Technology is always changing and this is very evident in the school. The days of copying work on a Gestetner are gone. The school is now full of computers, SMART Boards, iPads, photocopiers and the wireless.

Spring-like conditions enjoyed

Some "spring like" weather the last few days has been enjoyed by all. Monday the temperature rose to 7 C, with sunshine. Rain or snow had been forecast, but that didn't materialize Monday. My Feb.

Residents will welcome warmer weather

I'm home after a two-month holiday in Prince George, B.C. It was an enjoyable time spent with my daughter and her family. The weather there was a lot warmer than here. While I was away one of our apartment members, Arnold Stewart, passed away.
