Forty-two present and past members of Saskatchewan Embroiderer's Guild gathered at the St. Rose de Lima Catholic Church Hall in Cochin June 11 to celebrate the 40th anniversary of SEG.

The 11th annual 12-40 and Beyond tour takes place in the Blaine Lake, Hafford, Marcelin and Leask areas July 27 and 28.

Saskatchewan Hospital North Battleford is 100 years young.

Rose Danychuk was pleased to have her daughter Nancy de Bussac of Biggar and granddaughter Stephanie Trochie Of Oyen, Alta. to visit with her. They had a trip out to the farm to visit also.

Sunny skies and a beautiful summer day greeted Battlefords Art Club members as they met for a day of painting, laughter and fellowship. The final chapter was written for our show and sale this Friday and Saturday at the sailing club at Meota.

Summer is so enjoyable when the sun is out, the rich colours of lawns, trees and flowers surround us and we can enjoy the lingering sun into the evening hours. Scholarships were handed out at Unity graduation ceremonies.

The North Battleford Exhibition Grounds were packed Wednesday afternoon for the second of a three day powwow. Sakicawasihk 2013, the Gold Eagle Casino powwow, celebrated its 15th annual event.

Condolences to the family of Betty Ferris, whose memorial service was held July 6 in Radisson Lutheran Church, with Leo Monselor of Maymont United Church officiating and Valerie Gray playing the piano.

Yards and garden are keeping residents busy, the wet summer has promoted lots of weed growth and the grass needs frequent cutting. It is good to see the village lily and perennial beds thriving.
