Radisson Citizen of the Year was Ellen Cousins, who was honoured Feb. 16 with the award. The Radisson Centennial 50/50, drawn the last Friday of every month, saw Doreen Parker winning $158 for February. Next draw will be March 28.

March appears to have come in "like a lamb," in our part of Saskatchewan. Daytime temperatures for the last few days have been slightly above zero. As usual the days are passing quickly. Congratulations to Kathy and Chris Jacobs of Salmon Arm, B.C.

Students around the Battlefords have been swept up in the We Day phenomenon, including students from St. Vital School in Battleford. Twenty-seven students from the school travelled to Saskatoon Feb.

The stage at Logie Hall was full-to-overflowing with local talent on Sunday, March 3.

A live presentation at North Battleford Comprehensive High School Thursday afternoon featured two aboriginal artists and activists, hip-hop artist and poet Brad Bellegarde and independent producer and filmmaker Marcel Petit.

Bert Lorne Joseph Cooper was born on Aug. 25, 1936 at the Notre Dame Hospital in North Battleford. Lorne was the sixth in a family of nine children and was raised in a single parent home.

Robert Tannahill of North Battleford has been honoured with a Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal. The medal was presented at Government House in Regina Jan. 21 by Saskatchewan Lt. Gov. Vaughn Schofield, accompanied by D.

A Juno award-winning jazz musician entertained a houseful of fans Feb. 17 in North Battleford. David Braid made 42 music lovers happy with his solo concert. In fact, some were more than happy.

According to a report in the Regina Leader Post in January, "This winter has been particularly pricey for the province, with $5.5 million more than usual being spent on snow and ice control of Saskatchewan roads.

Cochin Community Players have completed renovations of its theatre site in the Resort Village of Cochin. The Cochin Community Hall has been the venue for stage productions since 1996.
