It's February school break week. But that doesn't mean there isn't anything to do. The North Battleford Library will be hopping with family fare for all ages this week. Wednesday, Feb. 19, there will be a children's movie. It will begin at 2:30 p.m.

The Cribbage games to be held Jan. 28 were cancelled due to weather and sickness. Bingo was held Jan. 30 with a small crowd in attendance. Callers were Bev Stewart and Denise Newton. Denise also provided lunch.

School community council raises playground funds

Norman Carter School Community Council held a family dance at the Saskcan Centre Feb. 8. The dance was a fundraiser for the Norman Carter Playground.

We have been fortunate not to have the snowstorms that have plagued eastern Canada. However, the light snow, the fairly strong winds and milder temperatures have made driving difficult since the roads and highways have been icy.

Sonningdale held their 34th annual Valentine's banquet Feb. 9 at the Sonningdale Seniors' Centre. Thank you to everyone who helped with this event. This year the entertainment was supplied by Per Vinding from Dundurn.

Radisson Royal Purple (RP) held their regular meeting Feb. 4 at the Radisson Seniors' Centre with six members coming in the afternoon to judge posters, followed by a short business meeting.
