Birthdays celebrated

The Maidstone Drop In Centre March-April potluck noon lunch was held April 20 with 25 seniors in attendance. Seated at the birthday table were Mervin Burgess, Judith Holmberg, Rose and George Danychuck, Dororthy Kissick, Ray Hartman and Joan Smith.

Seated at the birthday table were Mervin Burgess, Judith Holmberg, Rose and George Danychuck, Dororthy Kissick, Ray Hartman and Joan Smith. Missing were Thelma Lundell, Peter Taylor, Mabel Stewart and Gertie Rutlidge. Following a bountiful dinner a number of seniors stayed and played games of their choice.

Cribbage was played at the centre April 23 with Dorothy Schwartz hosting and providing lunch. Dorothy Schwartz had the high score and Dorothy Kissich was low.

April 24 was a busy day as the senior hosted the Saskatchewan Senior Fitness Association fun day and annual meeting. Seniors provided the noon lunch.

Bingo was played April 25. We were pleased to have our volunteer caller Joan Smith back from her winter holiday in the south. Margaret MacEachern was the other volunteer caller. Lunch was provided by Lil McMillan and Denise Newton.

April 30 - games of choice were played. Some played cribbage and some played 500. High went to Eva Inkster and low went to Jean Hartman. Lil McMillan looked after the lunch.

Since the last write up we have had about one inch of rain and two inches of wet snow which has melted and has really greased up the towns. A friend said she had two daffodils in bloom. I guess they came up early and then froze off before blooming. Spring is here.
