Very many thanks to the people of the local churches -Third Avenue United, St. Paul's Anglican, St. Vital's Roman Catholic and Notre Dame Roman Catholic - for providing order sheets to share their fall suppers and Thanksgiving dinners. Those meals partaken of, were bounteous and very delicious.
The Thanksgiving weekend was pleasant. Many folks took to the clear open roads to enjoy a bit of travel to visit family and friends. Many entertained company who came from quite far away.
We have enjoyed our days of a long open fall. It was joy to travel along and look at the lovely foliage changing to shades of red, orange and gold, blending in with the dark green of the firs. A true artist's paradise.
Welcome to our many new residents. There are activities in the lounge most days, that are quite appealing.
Our decorating committee has been hard at work. The first floor hallway and entry glow with the colours of fall scenes and cut outs. Later, Thanksgiving decorations were added, giving the entry a warm inviting touch.
It is unfortunate to have sickness in our midst. Some are coping with health issues at home, or are enduring a hospital stay. A speedy return to health is wished for those not feeling very well at this time.
The weather is changing to more winter like conditions. It is good to be prepared by having our annual flu shots Oct 24th.
A memorable evening was spent on Oct 20. We were entertained by Charlie and Carol Reed from Florida, Jim and May Schultz, and Walter Gamble, all from Sonningdale. The meeting was rich with its gospel music, familiar hymns that we could sing along with. Enjoyed were questions and answers, followed by a visiting time.
