Sunday was the first day this fall that the temperature has remained below 0 C. A temperature of -13 C is forecast for tonight. Although probable snow was forecast for Saturday we missed it. The first white frost of the season was a heavy one and kept the trees covered for quite some time Thursday morning.
The family of Karen and Rick Johnston honoured them with an interesting evening Saturday, Oct. 26 on the occasion of their 40th wedding anniversary. Following a delicious supper, the bride and groom of 40 years cut a beautiful anniversary cake made and decorated by Eileen Evans. Other activities followed including some bowling, since the event was held in the Maidstone Bowling Alley complex. It was a great occasion for lots of visiting. We wish Rick and Karen many more years of happiness together.
With cooler weather coming those who spend time in the warm south are getting ready to go or have already gone, Enjoy the sunny climes!
