The second of the two farmer's markets scheduled to take place at Waseca Community Centre was held Aug. 27. The small number of vendors had a successful day again. It is hoped August, next year the markets will be scheduled again with perhaps a day at the beginning of the week rather than on the weekend being scheduled.
The summer was an exciting one for the McPherson - Maxwell family. Lynn spent five weeks in Montreal in a French immersion class, returning home Aug. 6. For the rest of August she resumed her job at Lake Waskesiu. University classes for her begin in early September when she will continue her studies in studio art and art history at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon.
Jean, Jim and Julie travelled to Ottawa, Ont. to spend some time with Jean's brother, Ted McPherson, his wife Barbara and their family who were home from their work in Germany. They were able to take part, while there, in other activities including delving into some work in genealogy. Both Jim and Jean's family have roots in the Perth, Lake Simco, Lake Huron and other areas. These areas are beautiful to visit.
Julie Maxwell spent a day visiting her sister, Lynn in Montreal. Julie will be attending Aden Bowman Collegiate, taking Grade 12. There she will have an opportunity to expand her musical interests.
On the way home from their Ottawa trip, Jean, Jim and Julie attended the Regina Folk Festival August 5 to 7.
Neil and Pat Morrison and family thoroughly enjoyed a week at Lake Waskesieu. They spent their time hiking, swimming, boating and enjoying the beauty of the area.
