First few weeks action packed

Although we have only recently kicked off another great year at Maidstone High School, we have already had many exciting events. It has been a busy first month and a great start to the 2011-12 school year.

Although we have only recently kicked off another great year at Maidstone High School, we have already had many exciting events.

It has been a busy first month and a great start to the 2011-12 school year.

We hosted our annual Mega Volley, where our senior girls' team placed second, and sent students to both the National Leadership Conference in Newfoundland and a Provincial Leadership Conference in Kindersley. Cross-country runners have qualified for provincials.

Last week we kicked off our annual magazine sale fundraiser. We are in the process of selling and hope to exceed last year's total.

Another project we are supporting is the building of a well in Africa. All the money from recycling our school's cans and bottles goes towards this project. It is only October and we are already halfway there!

This Friday we are holding our Terry Fox run as well as, taco bag lunch with all proceeds going towards cancer research. We would also like to congratulate the members of our cross-country team who advanced to provincials.
