Fundraiser draws a crowd

Among the many items donated for auction by auctioneers from Kramer Auctions and others was the 10,000th birdhouse made by Bruce McFadyen. The money raised will pay for the upgrading of the heating system at Pine Island Suites.

A good group of volunteers met at Waseca skating rink Sunday afternoon to continue restoration work there. They were pleased with the progress being made. Sunday afternoon work "bees" will be held for some time until the work is completed. Any volunteers are welcome to come to help with this project.

Victor Medez celebrated his seventh birthday with a party at the Waseca Community Centre Oct. 16. He was surrounded by relatives and friends including his grandparents and great-grandparents who were able to come.

A grass fire on Highway 16 at the west entrance of Waseca brought the Waseca Fire Department out in full force.It was quickly put out.

Plans for Waseca's fall supper to be held Sunday, Nov. 6 are well underway
