Games day shuffleboard champs crowned

The Neilburg Seniors held their regular monthly games day March 7. Jean Ball and Edna Jeffrey teamed up to win the A side of the shuffleboard. Marlene Washenfelder and Mary Svajlenko were the runners up.

The Neilburg Seniors held their regular monthly games day March 7. Jean Ball and Edna Jeffrey teamed up to win the A side of the shuffleboard. Marlene Washenfelder and Mary Svajlenko were the runners up. Lois Cammidge and Les Christensen took the B side. Marrian Graham and Arlene Bain were in second place. Dale Lysitza was the lucky raffle winner. Lil and Tony Peterson were the high players in the afternoon cribbage. Susie Brock and Lois Cammidge were the low players. The next games day will be held on April 4 at the seniors' centre. All are welcome to attend.

Kindergarten registration forms have been sent out for the fall of 2011 for those who plan toattend Neilburg Composite School. If you are new to the community, or have been missed, contact the school and the forms will be sent out to you. This should be done prior to March 31.

Parent/teacher interviews were held on March 8 and 10. The Scholastic Book Fair was held in conjunction with the interviews. Mrs. Hein reports the book fair had total sales of $1,957.25, just shy of the goal of $2,000. The school received $1,102.72 in credit. Mrs. Hein has already ordered $684.85 in books and resources for the library. The winner of the family event was Lauren Rutherford. Book winners were: Kale Worman, Raegan Husch, Colton Walde, Taeya Wiens, Brody Elchyson, Brei Etson, Paige Johnston, Kaylyn Koch, Ann Hewko, Brayden Koch, Malaina Pratt-Flanganan, Dustin Spence, Lindsay Gibbons, Jenna McGarry, Courtney Cammidge, Loralee Ryan, Shaelyn Putnam, Madison Fouhse, Taryn Black, Kailee McGarry, Kasey Schmidt, Brandon Morgan, Shannon Putnam, McKayla Granger, Danelle Covey and Mrs. K. B.

Book fair poster winners were: Eduard Borja, McKenna Goodfellow, Dineka Elchyson, Hanna O'Grady, McKenzie Horvath, Braxton Snell, Eugene Rathwell, Ethel Borja, Hannah Prystupa, Clayton Schmidt, Nevada Smith, Jorin Black, Nash Etson, Jarod Ryan, Colby Urlacher and Chloe Marshall.

Marsden/Neilburg Minor Hockey will be winding up their year with a banquet March 31 in the Neilburg Community Hall.
