Performers in Maymont's Legends 4 concert on stage at the Memorial Hall last weekend.

Celebrate the Harvest - thank you News-Optimist/Regional Optimist for the lunch at Pennydale Junction for all the reporters and their guests.

Condolences to Sandy Hawkins on the passing of her dad. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family, Sandy.

Success again in Maymont. Legends 4 - what a great evening of entertainment. Miners walked up the middle aisle and stood in the front of the stage with their helmets and lights on to give the effect of miners while Shelley Bloom sang Working Man. Some of the audience were pulling out their Kleenex. What a moving song and done so well. Thank you, Shelley Bloom. Shelley also got a well-deserved standing ovation.

Doreen Duchnitski's beautiful voice rang out with songs by Anne Murray. Doreen also celebrated her birthday the night of the event and the crowd sang her Happy Birthday.

John Denver (Mel Deagnon) entertained us with some of John's greatest songs. As some of you know, Mel is quite the kibitzer. He donned the John Denver hair, glasses and hat.

Helmay Lowen did favourite songs by Kitty Wells, including Honky Tonk Angel. Great job, Helmay.

Carl Ross, always a crowd pleaser, gave a tribute to George Jones, one of his favourite artists. He did a great mix of George's old and newer songs.

The evening ended with a song by Stompin' Tom, a toe tapper. The crowd was also entertained by Car-Mel Country with their Telemiracle song, Old Flat Top Guitar.

We have great plans for next year. We're trying to arrange an afternoon of music, a catered supper and entertainment into the evening. As this will be our fifth year and last year for the Legends, we will be inviting all the musicians who have sang throughout the four years. We will only be able to sell 150 tickets for this event and tickets will go on sale early in September.

Thank you to all for attending our event, to Mel Deagnon, master of ceremonies, and let's not forget the band. Jon Sloan, who arranged an afternoon of rehearsal before the show, came early to get things set up before the show. His band includes Thelma Boychuk, Erin Foreman, and Doreen Duchnitski. Not only did Doreen sing, she was part of our backup band. Thanks to the hall committee for all their help; this wouldn't have been possible without it. And thank you to everyone who joined us from Saskatoon, P.A., Lloydminster, Turtleford, Turtle Lake and other surrounding areas.

Next venture is our trade show Nov. 16 at Maymont Memorial Hall. Some of our vendors are home baking, Tupperware, Pampered Chef, Watkins, Steeped Tea, Epicure, Woody's Cut Coin Jewelry and many more.
