Minnehaha rally draws 40 riders

Here we are once again. Seems like there isn't that much going on in our little community. The Three Stars are showing they are once again a team to be reckoned with as they head into the finals.

The annual Minnehaha snowmobile rally was held Feb. 20. There were only 40 riders this year with the winners being: first Eric Mykytuk of Glaslyn, second Khris, third - Rene Cadrain of Glaslyn. Selling the most ghost hands was Frank Poole of Edam. Keep an eye out for the posters with the information on the second annual trail ride this fall.

The Legion recognized the winners of the 2010 Remembrance Day competitions March 4 in the H. Hardcastle School library. Congratulations to the winners of the trip of the month draw for February, Layne and Ramone Becotte of Edam and the $100 winner, Michael Windsor of Mervin.

There will be a ladies' night out held in the Legion Hut March 26 at 7:30 p.m. in support of breast cancer research. Tickets are $20 and the evening consists of a fashion show and a wine and dessert tasting. The Handi-van committee will be holding their St. Patrick's Day Bingo March 11 at the seniors' centre at 7:30 p.m. There will be 10 games for ham and a blackout for a hamper. Wear something green and receive a free card.

That seems to be it for this week. The forecast is looking better and I sure hope it is true. There are several cattlemen that are into full swing and others, like us, are just getting started. Good luck to you and may all your babies be born during the day in the sunshine.
