This year's provincial Catholic Women's League Convention was held in Saskatoon on June 3 and 4.
Several Notre Dame ladies along with spiritual Advisor Fr. Gerard Legaspi attended.
For the annual CWL fun day in July, members were joined by other parishioners in attending an entertaining live production of Salt Water Moon in Rosthern.
On Aug. 11th - 14 five Notre Dame members attended the national CWL convention in Regina. With the national theme in mind, five past national CWL presidents relayed their moving personal experiences in, "We have seen the Lord."
Fr. William McGrattan will be replacing Archbishop Martin Currie as the new national spiritual advisor.
As presented at a monthly CWL meeting, we were encouraged to join others in the anonymous spiritual adoption of an unborn child. Although we do not and will not know the baby, we give the baby a name and fill in the date we adopt it on a card provided. We pray for this baby for a safe and viable delivery.
A fundraiser raffle sponsored by CWL raised money for missionary studies for Tianna Balfour, our former youth minister at Notre Dame Parish. At the present time she is training in Hawaii and from there will be stationed in another country in need that will be chosen for her.
Oct. 20 - 27 was the CWL sponsored the "Ribbon of Signatures Campaign". This year postcard petitions stating "pornography hurts," depicting a child with a tear running down their cheek was passed out to parishioners at masses, A message against pornography on 4.2 billion pornographic websites was on the back. We were to wear the ribbon attached to the card, sign the card and mail it to Minister of Justice Peter Mackay. Over 200 cards were mailed.
The annual Notre Dame fall supper was headed once again by the CWL on Oct. 27. Many parishioners contributed to and worked hard to make this undertaking a success. More than 650 meals were served.
There was a CWL fall workshop in Marcelin Nov 9.
The Notre Dame CWL membership and fun night will be held Nov 25 with a Christmas theme.
