Open Minds workshop tackles artist's block

Saturday, May 26 at the Chapel Gallery there will be a workshop for all artists who want to learn how to work through an "artist's block."

Open Minds: Artist Rejuvenation with Chris Hodge is an entertaining workshop full of exercises and activities that will help increase creativity. Artists will use water soluble ink, water colour paints and different papers and textiles to learn new techniques that will encourage the free flow of ideas and experimentation.

The workshop is from 1 to 4 p.m. Registration is $40 for members and $65 for the general public. Call 445-1757 to register or for more information.

Mother's Day is a busy one at the Chapel Gallery. The second annual Mother's Day Tea and Spring Plant Sale will be held on Sunday, May 13 from noon to 4 p.m. at the Chapel Gallery. Bring the family and enjoy refreshments in the gallery space filled with flowers. The Allen Sapp Gallery Gift Shop also has jewellery at 15 per cent off for May 11 through 13. Choose a piece by a local artisan for Mother's Day.
