Preparations for Waseca anniversary underway

The warmer temperatures during the past week have made snow disappear and dried roads. The Waseca 100th anniversary committee members continue to work hard laying plans for the celebrations to be held July 2 and 3.

The warmer temperatures during the past week have made snow disappear and dried roads.

The Waseca 100th anniversary committee members continue to work hard laying plans for the celebrations to be held July 2 and 3.

Replies have come from well over 100 former residents who live well out of the Waseca area. We are urging local people to send in their replies as well. It is important for the committee members to know numbers in order to plan meals.

April will be a busy month of preparation on the grounds of the village and cemetery and in sprucing up our heritage church.

The next meeting of the committee was April 4 at 7 p.m. at the Community Centre. Interested individuals are always welcome to come and assist. Volunteers are needed.

Did you know? The Waseca Herald was a publication distributed free of charge to the settlers on the first and fifteenth of every month. The first edition was dated July 15, 1907. Charges for advertising were to be very light as there were no profits to be made for anyone. Anyone wishing to insert advertisements or news items was asked to contact M.E. Donavan or H.B. Rowed.
