More than 100 ladies wearing pink and teal attended the Wilkie CWL's annual Pink Night, which was held on Oct. 16 at St. James Parish.

This year's event focused on both breast and ovarian cancer. Pink Night began with a silent auction, door prizes, 50/50 tickets and an opportunity to purchase items that promote cancer awareness. All proceeds would be going towards cancer research.

Throughout the evening, the ladies enjoyed pink punch and were treated to appetizers and sweets. The Pink Night event speaker was Shianne Revet, an ovarian cancer survivor. Those present had the honour of listening to Shianne as she discussed her personal and inspiring journey against cancer.

She imparted important information on symptoms and treatments, as well as shared videos, pictures and literature on the subject.

It was a special evening as this year's CWL Pink Night raised $2,880. After 13 years of Pink Nights, a total of $22,700 has been raised for cancer research.

St. James CWL would like to express sincere thanks to everyone for the continued support by attending, donating and volunteering at Pink Night throughout all these years.
