Rink committee raising funds, soon will be flooding rink

The Waseca Rink Committee held a successful annual fundraiser last Sunday evening. Many people attended and enjoyed a delicious supper at the rink. If this cool weather continues, it will soon be time to flood the rink.

Waseca's annual fall supper will be held at the Waseca Hall Sunday, Nov. 3, beginning at 5 p.m. Waseca's supper is usually one of the last of the season.

The Waseca Quilters are planning a "learning session" at their regular meeting, Nov 1. Fran Tatro, one of our members, will be instructing.

Correspondents of the News-Optimist/Regional Optimist and those who write columns for the paper were treated to a Thanksgiving luncheon Oct. 24. Following a delicious meal and time of visiting, many of us enjoyed the City of North Battleford Historic Archives where Tammy Donahue-Buziak, the archivist, enthusiastically explained the work being done there and made suggestions on how we can help that work.

Next we toured the Chapel Gallery which is presently featuring an exhibition of photos by Courtney Milne. They are outstanding photos taken at different times of the year at the same location.

Thanks to Becky Doig for hosting an interesting afternoon.
