The Battleford Hillcrest Seniors' Choir hosted a 19th annual Telemiracle Concert at their centre Feb. 20, raising just over $1,300.

The Eagle Hills Band, composed of Joan Harrison on piano, Edna Weum on guitar and Neil Smith and Don Mitchell on fiddles, played their toe tapping music for one-half hour while people were arrived and giving their donations to Telemiracle.

Jack Goodwin was MC for the evening. Everyone got a laugh from the comical items he read.

The entertainment started with the Hillcrest Singers who sang several old favourites. They were directed by Doris Allan and accompanied by Joan Harrison and Edma Weum. They were followed by Sharon Rose with several inspirational solos. She accompanied herself on the guitar.

Cheryl Ogram also accompanied herself on guitar when she sang a few selections, including one that told the story of her Métis ancestors.

Erin Foreman brought her 10-year-old violin student, Rebecca Boser, who delighted the audience with several pieces. Apparently this was her first public appearance. I'm sure it won't be her last. Erin then read a humourous story about a pet dog.

The entertainment ended with Dwight Hemmerling and Leon Ochs on guitars playing and signing and getting everyone to sing along with them. Erin Foreman joined them at times with her violin.

The evening ended with the serving of tea coffee, juice and cookies.
