Seniors plan Christmas supper

The Catholic ladies were chosen to cater the Christmas supper to be held Sunday, Dec. 8 at 5 p.m. Cost to members is $10 and cost to non-members is $13.

The seniors will be doing a bingo at Pine Island Lodge Nov. 15. Dorothy Schwartz volunteered to do the calling and find three helpers. Drop-In supplies the prizes for the day.

The date was set for the Christmas bingo as Wednesday, Dec. 18. Players are asked to bring a $3 prize and a 50 cent prize.

The recreation board matching grants has been approved for a new carpet and installation for the entryway. Adjustments of inside and outside doors are to be taken care of. A signed petition regarding senior health care was sent to Regina.

The next meeting will be Friday, Dec. 6 and tables will be set up after the meeting ready for the Christmas supper Sunday, Dec. 8.

Lunch was provided by Lil McMillan.

Cards were cancelled for Nov. 4 because of a funeral. Bingo was played Nov. 6 with Margaret MacEachern doing the calling and providing the lunch.

The Gold Age Supper for seniors over 70 will be held in the Legion Hall at 5 p.m. Dec. 1. This is for anyone in the area and is sponsored by the Maidstone High School students.
