Speech arts performer earns music festival prize

Congratulations to Alisdair Ramsay-Mackenzie who recently received a $50 prize at the Battlefords Kiwanis Music Festival for his sacred reading entry in the speech arts section.

Congratulations to Alisdair Ramsay-Mackenzie who recently received a $50 prize at the Battlefords Kiwanis Music Festival for his sacred reading entry in the speech arts section.

Sympathy is extended to the family and friends of Leslie (Les) Russell Graham who passed away March 15, at the age of 89. Les was born September 1922. His memorial service was held from the Marsden Community Hall, March 19, in the midst of the spring storm, with Clifford Scott officiating. The burial took place in the Brady Cemetery. Les will be sadly missed by his three daughters, Bev (Jim) Tradewell, Bonnie O'Grady (Raymond Forest) and Janis (Dean) Walde, and his son John (Sheila) Graham, 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, brother Bill Graham, sister Olive Munroe, brother-in-law George Edwards, and sisters-in-law Ruth Graham and Peggy Graham, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Les was predeceased by his wife Margaret; as well as brothers, sisters and in-laws.

Sympathy is also extended to the Ducherer family on the unexpected loss of Erica Dancey of Lashburn, due to a motor vehicle collision.

Citizens of Neilburg have recently been warned to be careful when flushing items into the village sewer system. Someone was flushing "shop towels" and there was a clog in the pipes as a result of this. People are asked to be very careful in the future as this could have had very serious results.
