The children of Moosomin School gathered in the gym with excitement and anticipation to see some teachers and even the principal get their heads shaved in front of them as part of their Terry Fox fundraiser Sept. 30.

The kids had been fundraising for three weeks by collecting all their pennies and coins and bringing them to the school to donate to this cancer fundraiser. In total the kids and the teachers of Moosomin School raised a whopping $974.21.

"We're all very proud of the kids, it's going to an excellent cause," said Principal Lionel Pillar. "They worked very hard and everybody helped."

The student who raised the most funds was Robin Blackstar from the Grade 9 class and the classroom that raised the most was the Grade 7 class. The fundraiser had been held in previous years, however this year was an even greater success. The staff who helped organize the event were Ashley Little, Miranda Martell and Donna Blackstar.

The kids got to help do the head-shaving and Principal Pillar got the honours of getting his head shaved by Denny Blackstar from the Grade 3 class.

After all this fun in the gym the kids went back to their classrooms to enjoy pizza parties in celebration of the fundraiser.
