The City of North Battleford, in partnership with Saskatchewan in motion, the Saskatchewan Heart and Stroke Foundation and the Prairie North Health Region, is holding its third annual Walk the Battlefords event on Oct. 5, encouraging Battlefords residents to stay physically active.

Though registration closed Sept. 30, Battlefords residents are encouraged to participate in the walk, which will take place at 10 a.m. around the city. Schools around the city are holding their own walks and those who have not registered are invited to start at Territorial Place Mall.

With winter approaching, the walk is especially important. The only limitation on participants is that their walk be at least one kilometre. Prizes will be awarded after a draw of participants Oct. 11. For more information, contact Laura Allan at City Hall at 445-1754 or Erin Bland at the Prairie North Health Region at 446-6400 ext. 6130.
