Sitting here in Battleford, having coffee with Harold Anderson, one would hardly suspect that you were in the presence of one of the brave men who helped push back enemy troops out of France, Belgium, Holland and England. Anderson was a pilot.

A North Battleford author's first in a trilogy of books will be launched Nov. 15 in Battleford. Lorne Spencer Hrabia says he has an ability to remember his dreams in great detail.

The Borden Friendship Club held a very successful tea and bake sale Oct. 29, with the tea proceeds of over $230 going to the Borden Museum and the proceeds of the bake sale and 50/50 for expenses of the club.

Ruth Lahti was born and raised in rural Alberta. She married, and she and her husband raised four children in the Edmonton and Leduc areas. While living in the Leduc area she joined the pottery club and so began her love of the visual arts.

Deepest Sympathy goes out to the Sherman family on the loss of their mom Gertie. She will truly be missed by family and friends. Rest in peace, Gertie. A potluck supper was held in Ruddell Oct. 29.

Keith and Dawn Hartman of Lloydminster were down to visit their mom Jean Hartman and along with Gerald and Marie Hartman, they all enjoyed dinner out.

The school was a very busy place Oct. 31. Staff and students arrived on Halloween dressed in a variety of costumes. There were vampires, princesses, cats, pirates and even Elvis made an appearance.

To celebrate Library Week, Oct. 19 - 25, Eugenie Davidson from Meadow Lake read from her book, Choosing to Bloom, at the Meota library Oct. 25, and answered questions after. This book has Canadian history and was published in Victoria.

The Notre Dame Catholic Women's League annual campaign against pornography, "White Ribbon of Signatures," took place at masses at Notre Dame Church Oct.18 and 19.

Halloween might be over, but the witches are still working hard and still hanging around the Battlefords rehearsing for the next production by Battlefords Community Players.
