It was -22 C outside, but warm and sunny in the Don Ross Centre art room Tuesday when 10 Battlefords Art Club members were busily working.

Over the next several columns, you will be introduced to this year's music festival adjudicators. Band is scheduled to open the Festival March 24. Adjudicating will be established music educator Greg McLean.

It's Archives Week in North Battleford. Planned for the week are displays at the two malls. Friday, the City of North Battleford Historic Archives will host a digital presentation and display at the Frontier Mall from noon until 5 p.m.

Since last St. Walburg Royal Purple report, members enjoyed a December potluck supper, meeting and Christmas party attended by 32 members. District Deputy Dorothea Hocher made her official visit that night as well.

Allie Raycraft could still be working, but just over a year ago she said, "I'm 76 years old. I don't think I need to do this any more." Raycraft was born in Inverness, Que., which is a small community in Megantic County.

The only thing better than one grand piano is two grand pianos. At an upcoming concert at the Dekker Centre for the Performing Arts in North Battleford, a piano duo will headline the show.

The Stories They Tell Us, a Mask and Puppetry Exhibition, drew a crowd to the Chapel Gallery in North Battleford for an artists' reception Saturday.

Family and friends gathered at the Maymont Seniors' Centre Jan. 20 to celebrate the 89th birthday of Tom Caldwell. Entertainment was provided by Tom Caldwell, Mel Deagnon, Don Wakelin and Raymond Seib. Happy birthday, Tom, and many more.

The month of January has gone by very quickly. The high school students are writing their exams Thursday and Friday. Semester 2 begins Feb. 3. The school year is half finished.
