The Gord Bamford concert, held May 1 at the Elgar Petersen Arena in Humboldt and put on by local 4-H clubs attracted a crowd of over 1,000 people - not a bad size, but not the sell-out they were hoping for.

Still, the organizations were able to write a cheque for $33,264 to the Humboldt District Hospital Foundation (HDHF) last week.

The large donation, presented by the District 21 and 28 4-H clubs - which includes the Three Lakes 4-H Beef Club, the Heartland 4-H Club, the Viscount 4-H Horse Club, the Viscount 4-H Beef Club, the LeRoy 4-H Light Horse Club and the BarWest 4-H Club - will go towards the HDHF's Our Legacy, Our Future $1.8 million equipment campaign.

The concert, largely organized by the youth involved in the 4-H clubs, was also the brainchild of the young 4-Hers, who wanted to do something to give back to the community.
