Dr. David MacKinnon and Kelly Waters are teaming up again to bring another speaker to the Gog. Friday, Nov. 10, The Gog will host writer and speaker Harold Johnson.

Maymont Central School students and staff tried not to freeze Friday as Living Sky School Division representatives introduced the division’s new welding trailer.

The Gog is honoured to host a fundraiser in support of local GSA and Pride efforts. Funds will contribute to local awareness for community diversity, visibility for LGBTQ+ issues, and future community Pride events.

A couple upcoming shows at the Dekker Centre are sure to give audiences their money’s worth. First, on Saturday, Nov. 4, Heillig Maneuvre hits the stage.

The City of Humboldt saw an old act return as Steve Palmer came back to Humboldt on Oct. 5 for a show at St. Andrew’s Anglican Church. Palmer has played in Humboldt many times before, including several during Humboldt’s Canada Day festivities.

It was the type of space he loves to play in so Jay Semko felt right at home during his show at the Humboldt and District Gallery. “I’ve played art galleries in a few different cities and towns and I love playing in them.

Douglas Bentham’s The Tablets speak a ghostly language. A sculpture in the second row features a chunk with the year “189-” something on it, while a chunk on another sculpture commemorates someone possibly named Emily or Emile. It’s not clear.

Humboldt continues to be a destination act for musicians from Ontario, as Tom Savage from Kingston, Ont. stopped in at the Humboldt Golf Club on Sept. 26.

Canadian band The Brothers Landreth is making a stop in North Battleford this Saturday, the third of eleven dates on a short tour spanning the Prairies, and concluding in B.C.

Saskatchewan based musician Jay Semko has no shortage of musical credits.
