It's summer, but they seemed perfectly happy to be back at school. Six artistic children from Humboldt have been taking summer art classes at St. Augustine School, taught by two local artists, Annah Gullacher and Taylor Crozon.

With a first-place win from the Saskatchewan Provincial Music Festival tucked away in his saxophone case, Gerard Weber is now preparing to attend the 41st Annual National Music Conference this August in Fort McMurray, Alberta.

Summer brings with it some inspirational works from local and national artists alike. Local artists have come together once again to put on a window salon exhibit of their work.

Henri Dutilleux, Claude Debussy, Frederic Chopin, Francis Poulenc and Franz Liszt. These are the composers whose works Thomas Yu chose to play at the final concert of the Marysburg Festival of the Arts summer concert series on July 28.

He takes photographs of things that catch his eye. The new local artist featured at the Humboldt and District Museum and Gallery (HDMG), Carlos Correa, takes photographs while on the road for his job at Access Communications.

It was a tribute to two men united by one common theme: music. The Tribute to Al Gerwing and Gegory Schulte at Assumption Church in Marysburg on June 24 was a concert worthy to be performed at the courts of kings and queens.

The fourth annual Northwest School Division Battle of the Bands music festival was held in Maidstone this week before an appreciative and enthusiastic audience.

So much musical talent has graced the stage of the Assumption Church in Marysburg over the years.

Dig, dig, dig, and survey. That's what $5,000 in funding from the Saskatchewan Heritage Foundation will be paying for at the Original Humboldt site this summer.

It was an unexpected honour. Jeff Burton is the new local artist at the Humboldt and District Museum and Gallery. His display of photographs will be up until the end of June.
