A hearty welcome to all - or "Ein herzliches Willkommen an alle" - was given at the third annual German Day or Deutscher Tag held August 8 in Humboldt.

Although it was a beautiful weekend, attendance at the eighth annual Bruno Cherry Festival was lower than usual this year.Overall, the festival, held July 24-25, went over well, said Kevin Pulvermacher, chair of the Cherry Festival.

The Marysburg Festival of the Arts is beginning to wind down.The second last concert was held at Assumption Church in Marysburg on July 7.The headliner of the concert was Darrell Bueckert, who plays the marimba.

Humboldt is a city that cares about its heritage. That was the message brought to the community during three Heritage Values meetings held at the Humboldt and District Museum and Gallery on June 21.
